Tree Toppers Nursery
Unlocking Curiosity
About Us
We have been caring for and educating Rishton’s children for nearly 20 years. We are based in a pretty Victorian home with large gardens and big airy rooms which are decorated in a homely, bright and cheerful way. The nursery is a short distance from the local train station, and is also a short walk from bus stops, with links to Blackburn and Accrington. All staff are highly trained, with qualification in childcare and paediatric first aid. The standard of care, equipment and buildings are thoroughly checked by all appropriate agencies including the local authority, Fire Safety Officer, Food Safety Inspector and Ofsted.

Mission Statement
At Tree Toppers we aim to:
Give each child their own individual voice, listening to their interests, experiences and ideas about the world.
Using these individual ideas to create a personalised and creative journey of learning and development together.
Provide a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment through a holistic approach for all children to play, learn and develop freely.
Help children to develop responsibility for themselves and their actions and to become competent, confident, resilient, independent and co-operative individuals.
Encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect themselves and other people.
Promote a positive relationship with parents, carers and multi-agency professionals and work in partnership with them to provide high-quality teaching and learning, and care for their children.
Provide a professional team that is experienced, enthusiastic and committed, well trained, and well supported.
Promote enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and confidence to celebrate achievements, persevere through challenge and learn together.
To share a love for reading and language – sharing stories and songs every day.
Provide a curriculum that embraces social, physical, moral and intellectual development giving children all the experiences that will support their School Readiness, British Values and Cultural Capital.

"Staff use a range of effective strategies to promote children's understanding of the world around them. Children thoroughly enjoy taking part in the variety of fun activities where they learn about other people and communities.
The management team seeks the views of parents, children and staff to set priorities for improvement. They have high aspirations for children and what they can achieve.
All children are active and independent learners. This includes children who speak English as an additional language and children who have special educational needs or disabilities.
Children are confident to play and explore and eager to join in with activities.
Plenty of purposeful opportunities are provided to children to help them learn how to keep themselves safe and healthy. Children enjoy taking on a challenge, managing risks and using tools and equipment with care."
